The Love of Learning
There's a big difference between "distance learning" and homeschooling. The beauty of true homeschooling is that there are countless ways to approach it. Homeschooling is about fitting the education to the child, not fitting the child to the education. Some homeschool methods are rigorous and time consuming for both the parent and the student. Some are easy for you if you can swallow putting your kids in front of a computer screen all day, and some are just plain boring.
As homeschooling families, we know that learning can take place in a variety of ways. Kids all come with different interests and abilities. They all see the world in a slightly different way. Despite these differences, however, there is one thing that all kids can share. They can all love learning. We don't have to put on a show for our kids to love learning and we don't have to water down any content. All we have to do is provide them with the right opportunities and allow them to pursue their passions as we guide them along a path toward success.
We draw on 17 years of experience as teachers in brick-and-mortar public schools, 4 years as teachers for charter schools, and 18 years homeschooling our own eight children in order provide a path to help you awaken the love of learning in your own children. All children can develop a true love of learning. If we keep that simple thought in mind, mandates can be turned into cravings, frustration can be turned into joy, and learning will never cease.
